Events

The Cobscook Community Learning Center hosts regular and special events throughout the year, big and small. From music jams and pizza nights, to our high school graduation, to the Annual Down East Spring Birding Festival and RiceFest, our events bring the community together for a meal, a conversation, or an educational experience. We also hold periodic fundraising events to support the work of the center.

Ongoing monthly events include…

MONDAY NIGHT MUSIC CIRCLE: A cornerstone of CCLC events, on the 2nd, 4th, and 5th Monday of every month. Starts at 7 pm. Bring an instrument, or your voice, or just come to listen. You’re sure to have a great time! Donations warmly accepted.

SACRED HARP, or SHAPE NOTE SINGING: A form of a cappella sacred music that became popular in America during the early nineteenth century. Singings are held at the CCLC on the first Saturday of every month from 2:00-4:30 pm, followed by a short potluck supper -- please bring something to share! All levels of experience are welcome. For more information about the tradition and other Maine singings, visit maineshapenotesinging.org. For more information, contact Kris Paprocki (207) 952-0922 or click here to email Kris Paprocki.
