Events at the CCLC

The Cobscook Community Learning Center hosts many regular and special events throughout the year that bring the community together for music, a meal, conversation, or educational experiences. We also hold periodic fundraising events to support the work of the center. If you find yourself staying at the Lodge when other events are happening here, you’re welcome to join in!

Ongoing events

Monday Night Music Circle: a cornerstone of the CCLC events, on the 2nd, 4th, and 5th Monday of every month, starts at 7 pm. Bring an instrument, or your voice, or just come to listen. You’re sure to have a great time! Donations warmly accepted.

Sacred Harp, or Shape-note Singing: A form of a cappella sacred music that became popular in America during the early nineteenth century. Singings are held at the CCLC on the first Saturday of every month from 2:00-4:30 pm, followed by a short potluck supper -- please bring something to share! All levels of experience are welcome. For more information about the tradition and other Maine singings, visit maineshapenotesinging.org. For more information, contact Kris Paprocki (207) 952-0922 or click here to email Kris Paprocki.

Sunday Coffeehouses: First Sunday of the month, featuring different musicians each month! From 1:00 – 4:00 pm in the Commons. The afternoon kicks off with the featured musician or band; the second hour is open mic; and the third hour is an acoustic Music Circle. There will be coffee, tea, and other refreshments available. Admission is free, and donations are welcomed to help support the CCLC. We hope to see you there!
